1p saving challenge (UK): £667.95 in a year

Updated 14 October 2026 · 4-minute read · UK

Save 1p on day 1, 2p on day 2, and so on up to £3.65 on day 365. It starts so small it feels silly, which is exactly why it works.

The total

Add up 1p to 365p and you get £667.95. Most of it comes in the second half of the year.

Reverse it for winter

Like the 52-week challenge, the biggest days land in December if you start in January. Do it backwards (£3.65 first) or start in spring.

Make it lazy

Instead of daily transfers, do it weekly: add up that week's seven days (week 1 = 28p) and transfer once. Or colour in random days you can afford.
